Plotamus is intended for users aged 16 and older. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 16, please do not use the app. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will delete their account and all associated data.
When you create an account, we store your email address and a display name. Your plots (short-form personal entries of up to 168 characters), tags, breevs, and analysis history are stored in our database to enable cross-device sync. If you enable location tagging, we store either the name of the establishment or the city you are in at the time of the plot.
Your data is used to provide the Plotamus service. Specifically:
We may use anonymized plot content to improve AI features and train models. Before any plot content is used for this purpose, all personally identifying information is stripped — including your email address, display name, and any other fields that could identify you. Location data (establishment name or city) is not considered personally identifying and may be included in anonymized training data. Your raw data is never used as-is for training.
Pattern analysis data and AI-generated outputs are never used for training purposes. You can opt out of this at any time in the app under Settings. Opting out means your plots will never be included in training data, anonymized or otherwise.
We may use anonymized plot content with third-party analytics services to analyze patterns such as sentiment, usage trends, and app behavior. This is done solely to improve the Plotamus experience. Data sent for this purpose does not include your email address, display name, or any other information that directly identifies you. You can opt out of this in Settings.
Free tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google's privacy policy. On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any advertising identifier is used. Paid tier users see no ads and no ad-related data is collected.
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL on AWS) with row-level security policies ensuring only you can access your data. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Local data is stored in SQLite on your device.
When you delete your account, your data is removed from our servers within 30 days. Local data on your device is removed immediately when you sign out or delete the app.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via the email address on your account within a reasonable timeframe, and no later than required by applicable law.
If you use the BYOK tier with your own Supabase instance, your data is stored on your own infrastructure. We have no access to it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, the right to data portability, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of any sale of that data (we do not sell your data). We may share anonymized data with third-party analytics services for product improvement purposes as described above; you can opt out of this in Settings. EU/EEA residents have rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@plotamus.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes — such as new ways of using your data — we will notify you through the app and give you reasonable advance notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after that notice period constitutes acceptance.
