By using Plotamus, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old to use the app. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Plotamus is a plotting app that lets you capture short-form entries and run AI-powered pattern analysis. A "plot" is a short-form personal journal entry of up to 267 characters. We provide the app, cloud sync, and AI analysis features across multiple tiers (Free, Plus, Pro, BYOK). Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. One account per person. Don't share your account.
You own your plots. We don't claim any rights to your content. We store it to provide the service and sync it across your devices. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
AI analysis features use third-party providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). When you run an analysis, your plot content is sent to the selected provider. AI outputs are informational and should not be treated as professional advice (medical, financial, legal, or otherwise).
AI analysis is provided for informational and self-reflection purposes only. It is not, and is not a substitute for, professional medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and your use of Plotamus does not create any professional-client, doctor-patient, or fiduciary relationship. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You are solely responsible for any decision you make or action you take based on AI output and assume all risk arising from your reliance on it; for any medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or similar decision, consult a qualified professional.
Plotamus is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, or are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
To keep AI features safe and focused on their intended purpose, Plotamus applies certain safeguards, including content and safety instructions, usage limits, and other technical controls (collectively, "Safety Measures"). You agree not to bypass, disable, circumvent, manipulate, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with these Safety Measures, and not to use any prompt, input, or technique — including "jailbreak" or prompt-injection methods — intended to make the AI ignore or override them, produce content it is designed to refuse, or operate outside its intended purpose of analyzing your own plots.
If you circumvent or attempt to circumvent any Safety Measure, you do so entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Plotamus disclaims all responsibility and liability for any output, consequence, or harm arising from such circumvention or from your use of or reliance on any content obtained through it, and you agree to indemnify and hold Plotamus harmless from any claim arising out of it.
Any actual or attempted circumvention of the Safety Measures is a material breach of these terms. We may, in our sole discretion and with or without notice, suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate your account and your access to the service — including any paid features — for any such conduct, without refund except where a refund is required by applicable law or by the applicable app-store policy, and without limiting any other rights or remedies available to us.
Paid tiers (Plus, Pro, BYOK) are billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled through your App Store or Google Play account settings before the renewal date. Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by the respective platform per their terms.
Plus and Pro tiers include a monthly credit allotment for AI analysis. Credits reset monthly. Unused credits do not roll over. Additional credits can be purchased as top-ups. Credits have no cash value and are non-refundable. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google and subject to their respective refund policies.
You are solely responsible for the content of your plots and how you use the service. We do not monitor user content and accept no liability for any use of Plotamus that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to terminate any account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
BYOK users connect their own database and API keys. We are not responsible for the security or availability of your self-hosted infrastructure.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Plotamus and its owners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your plots, or your violation of these terms.
PLOTAMUS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOUR DATA WILL BE PRESERVED IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. BACK UP ANYTHING CRITICAL.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PLOTAMUS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO PLOTAMUS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 IF YOU HAVE MADE NO PAYMENTS.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including outages from third-party infrastructure providers, natural disasters, or government actions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. You and Plotamus both waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in any class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in California.
If you downloaded Plotamus from Apple's App Store, Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support or handle claims related to the app. If you downloaded from Google Play, the same applies to Google. Each platform's own terms govern your relationship with them.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Plotamus regarding the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through the app and give you reasonable advance notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after that notice period constitutes acceptance.
